  A Great NYC institution. No reservations. Cash only. Worth every dollar. We had Nova, gravlax, and sable. Outstanding! Location is near the American Museum of Natural History.

  Institution. Deservedly. Service is 'New York charm' - brusque, badgering and fast! Latkes are a real treat - served as a portion of 4, freshly made, cream cheese and apple purée. Cash only. Beware the sizes - price is no indicator and some portions are enough to feed a family of 10.

  Love the old school environment. Barney Greengrass looks like it hasn't changed since they opened 100 years ago, and i wouldn't want it any other way. Adventure beyond just ordering the salmon (which is good too), try all of the smoked fish items on the menu if you have the time (or the appetite!). Sable, sturgeon, salmon, whitefish, herring...all delicious. Barney's is what i wake up craving first thing in the morning every time i am back in New York!
  Prices are a good value for the quality that you get. Service is actually great - wait staff can help steer you with well thought out suggestions. I look forward to coming back again soon.
