  I had a great experience for afternoon tea here. The restaurant is beautiful and the service was awesome. We were given a fair amount of food for the $60 flat cost and the food was good. It was fun with friends to try the different sandwiches and desserts. We weren't rushed at any point and probably spent almost two hours there. It is pricey but a fun experience.

  Not long ago, My friends and I were thrilled to dine at the historic Russian Tea Room after hearing a beautiful piano concert at Carnegie Hall. To me, the restaurant looked exactly the same. Earlier on this most recent afternoon as we awaited the start of the piano concert, we also visited the Russian Tea Room to have a drink at the bar and entertain one of the pianists who was to perform at Carnegie. Then, afterwards, my friends and I returned for dinner and the greeting of us was like we were part of the restaurant's family. The staff remembered us from the afternoon. We were graciously seated and each of us enjoyed a different, delicious entree. Do not miss this beautiful, iconic restaurant when you are in New York. It is a must. Someday, I hope, I will have a chance to go again and again!

  We had a wonderful time, and were surprised by the negative reviews about the service! Our waitress was so lovely, very attentive, and patient. The food was good, not remarkable but the assortment of various flavors you get to try in one sitting makes up for that tenfold. And the presentation is fun and unique.
  Definitely worth going once, just to see what it's like for yourself.
  Don't know what brands of tea they use but they were fantastic!
  And get the caviar. Definitely get the caviar.
